Artist Intro: Adam Sutherland

Adam Sutherland (SCO) is a magnificent fiddler from the shores of Loch Ness, with an impressive history of top bands and collaborations in the genre: Peatbog Faeries, Session A9, The Treacherous Orchestra… Adam has a wonderfully energetic yet very elegant and fluid style, lots of positive vibe and a stunningly wide scope ranging from totally infectious funky grooves to lyrical pieces that often come with a slightly French flavoring. He plays with a very tight acoustic folk-jazz-band; no ”trad trad” here but a great, head-spinning, foot-tapping marriage of Celtic roots to a variety of jazzy and funky influences and genres. Perfect music to set you in motion and lift your mood, so brilliantly executed – just go for it 🙂

P.S. Adam also hosts a brilliant Celtic Trad podcast, Adam Sutherland’s Interesting People where trad musicians talk about their work, roots, inspirations… It’s fab, go listen!
