Yeah, it’s been a while, again, with a no posts, no music comments. Nothing new here.
But the reasons are not bad, it’s just that during spring I had quite a lot of work that took away most of my extra energy and then in the summer I had the huge pleasure to spend two whole months in Scotland with my wife. This was our big celebration year with big-ish milestones in both our age and wedding anniversary so we decided to celebrate in style.
Of course this gave us the opportunity to catch some live gigs while there. Duncan Chisholm and friends were just lovely in Eden Court in Inverness; FARA and RURA both played great gigs in Glasgow at the end of the Commonwealth games; Capercaillie fiddler Charlie McKerron’s fiddle’s 150th birthday celebration (!) in Dundee, with Ross Ainslie and Tim Edey in the band, was pure joy (not to mention that we got to talk at length with both Ross and Tim before and after the gig, which was absolutely fantastic, they are such lovely people). And we also saw the excellent Spell Songs concert in Edinburgh, although we missed some of the last songs of the evening due to public transport.
So there was live music, great live music, during our eight weeks in Scotland, but as we were on a long planned dream holiday with many new places to see and new friends to make, I really didn’t feel like writing about music when there was so many things to see and do and travel and meet dear friends.
Anyway, my radio silence is over at least for the time being and I’ve already checked out some very, very good new music that I will write about, hoping that whoever reads my stuff may find music that they then check out and enjoy.
Because that’s pretty much the point, and the whole point, of this blog 😊
