NOTE: This is a February 17, 2026, update to this page.
You are most welcome to my contemporary Celtic, British, Nordic and also some other folk and trad music diary – so glad you found it!

This site has gone through a few changes since I set it up in 2019. It was originally called CeltBritFolkMusic but I changed the title in 2022 to reflect my widened musical tastes and interests.
I used to write often quite lengthy commentaries on albums but from early 2026, I have switched to shorter, diary-style notes on music. This purely for personal reasons having to do with available time and energy; my relationship with this music has not changed.
I am Finnish, live in Finland, was born in 1966 and my idols outside of music are Statler and Waldorf (search for Muppet Show information if that didn’t ring a bell 😄). I’m not a professional musician but I play the drums in a band covering artists like Rush, Genesis, Yes, ELO and Queen – the soundscape of my younger years.
Please note:
As the Internet is full of negative and angry stuff, as we all know, I have decided to keep quiet on the releases I would not have too many kind things to say about; I don’t want to add to the bad vibes out there. So in practice every music commentary here is, in effect, a recommendation to at least check out the album in question.
In short: this is a fan blog and not professional or commercial music journalism, so please keep this mind when reading my notes.
Thank you!
Good music, good times, good health – slàinte everyone 🙂
I love your site! you’ve already featured some of my very favourite artists. Especially love the interview with Adam Sutherland. Will watch for more to come!
