This one really made my day, I’m listening to it for a second time now. The guys from Orkney have put out an album full of great playing, tunes and lots of emotion and also variation – never a dull moment here.
It’s one of the albums that stylewise rides on both trad and neofolk tracks, and who really cares what you call it, it’s just brilliant music full of that special light and joy. Special bonus for me are the beautiful Gaelic vox by James Graham on a couple of tracks, the guy sings like a Celtic angel, bless him.
This album makes me feel happy and yes, hopeful, in this otherwise painful moment in our time. Lifesaver stuff, for me at least, so cheers guys, I love this one to bits!
